Vermeer's Window (3d)
BodyPaint, CINEMA 4D, Photoshop
February 2006

Cinema 4D-BodyPaint was used to create this image with some Photoshop help for texturing and gamma correction.
Cloth was created by simulation plus some hand touches.
Glossy reflection has been used subtle but extensivelly and also Global Illumination using one big area light plus some specular-only lights.
The image is something like a present for my wife. My goal was to "paint" the real lute I owned for her (she's lute player) but under the window (lighting circumstances) used so much by one of my favourite artists, Jan Vermeer. The scene is in fact a tribute to the big admiration I feel for his work so I used some elements from his pictures such as clothes, maps, checker-based floor... and of course the stained glass window.
I hope you like it.
Crits and comments will be very welcome.
